Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways you can be involved FTC NWA! You can give, pray, or volunteer. Please contact us for more information on how you can help make moments matter for foster kids in Northwest Arkansas.
For every counselor willing to spend the entire week at camp, another camper is able to attend. Training is mandatory. Counselors arrive at camp the day before the campers to prepare the cabins and welcome the campers as they arrive. Each counselor is responsible for two campers in order to provide the very best care for our campers. One assistant counselor works with every two regular counselors.
In addition to counselors, our support staff helps with various activities around camp. Support staff help chaperone our campers during Breakfast Club each morning and help put our precious campers to bed each evening while their counselors attend the daily staff meeting and enjoy a break. Through the day, they help oversee the daily activities including pool, fishing, wood shop, crafts, and more. They are also a big part of making the evening events extra special. If the need arises, our support staff will step in and be an assistant counselor to best support our campers.
This team of volunteers work together to plan and provide a Royal meal for our volunteers and their families upon returning from camp on Friday afternoon. Our volunteers have served with their whole heart for the entire week and this is an opportunity for them to be served. It provides the team a time to debrief with one another and share their memories of an amazing week before returning home to their families.
This team of volunteers will meet at the church on Monday morning to prepare to receive our campers. You will help organize their belongings and play games to keep them occupied while we wait for all campers to process registration. You will be the first group of people our campers meet and will have the opportunity to start their journey in a Royal way.
This group of volunteers intercede on behalf of our campers and volunteers before and after camp, but especially during the week of camp. These are our prayer warriors who petition the Throne of God and fight for our campers in the spiritual realm. Each prayer partner is assigned a specific camper or volunteer to pray for specifically. Our Prayer Partner Coordinator is a liaison between the leadership at camp and the prayer partners in order to communicate the specific needs that arise during the week of camp.
This amazing group works behind the scenes to make camp happen. They are often busy setting up for an event like “Everybody’s Birthday Party” or the “Tea Party” as well as providing additional support for these activities. These volunteers typically do not spend the night at camp and may attend one or more events for the week. This group may also serve as additional support in the kitchen or as clean-up crew at the end of the week. These positions are great for those who want to be an active part; however, they cannot give a full week to volunteer.
